The Books - Album Release Date
After months of waiting, Nick Zammuto and Paul de Jong of The Books, have announced a home for their latest album that is set to release in July. If you're a books fan then you know that this album is long overdue. In fact, the previous album, 'Lost and Safe', came out in 2005. That's five very long years of silence from such an innovative band. Alas, after months of searching, Temporary Residence has given the album a home where it can grow. Congrats to Nick and Paul and Thanks to TR for taking on such an amazing group of musicians! So excited to hear what this album has to offer.

Dr. Dog - Strangers
Dr. Dog for me was one of those bands that you hear people talking about and see at the record store but for some reason just never looked into. Well, that has changed. I can't believe I didn't give them a listen sooner. I love the motown-esque sound that is hinted in each track. Strangers is the first track off their newest album "Shame, Shame" that releases on April 6th and is my favorite song so far. But every song on the album is worth giving a spin. If you like it, give the rest of the album a try and pick it up at your local record shop. Remember, shopping local helps makes it possible for your city to grow. And buying albums helps support your favorite music. Help keep art and music alive in your city. Happy Listening!

St. Vincent at the High Dive
Tara (my wife) and I grabbed some cameras and braved a path out west to Champagne, IL last night. We were fortunate enough to catch Annie Clark and the her chaps make quite a ruckus at the High Dive. It was a pretty incredible night and I will try my hardest to see her whenever she comes around again. Anyways, I hope you like the pic. I'll post more shots here as I finish them.
Enjoy.

Last.fm Integration
I'm currently working on integrating my Last.fm info into my site. Still trying to figure out how I want to display the data. Top Ten albums... Recent tracks... Don't know what would work best or what would be of more interest to those who visit. If you have an opinion, I would love to hear it.
Much thanks to Jeroen Smeets for developing the Javascript. I was excited when I found it because it's hard to find a tool like this that wasn't exclusively developed for Wordpress.
